Most know the name, specifically ‘Chanel N°5 perfume’, launched by Parisian fashion designer Gabrielle " Coco" Chanel, and has been on sale continuously since its introduction in 1921. The more astute among us also know of her fashion creations since she opened her millinery in 1912, and rose to become one of the premier fashion designers in Paris, France, and ultimately throughout the world!
Numerous movies and TV mini-series have chronicled her humble childhood in a French orphanage, through her early days as a young dressmaker's assistant, to her passionate and tragic love affairs. She’s often given the moniker of ‘a glamorous woman who was hard to love and harder to ignore’. She never married throughout her 88 years (1883-1971), with numerous affairs; some became public and further added to her mystique. ‘Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky’ is a look at one of those affairs, saving both of their mental and creative ability at a time when both had hit lulls with life…
