The story, set in 1999, unfolds in a series of flashbacks starting in June of 1974. Federal justice agent Benjamín Espósito (Ricardo Darín) in Argentina has serious doubts during the investigation of a young woman who’s brutally raped and murdered in her home in a Buenos Aires neighborhood. His assistant is a ‘closet’ alcoholic who simply wants to have the case end so that his life can go back to the simple every day pace of police work.
