Actor Jason Bateman fine-tuned his thespian skills on the hit TV series “Arrested Development” for 3 seasons. Since that show he’s appeared in “The Break-Up” (2006), “Smokin' Aces” (2006), “The Kingdom” (2007), “Juno” (2007), “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” (2008), “Hancock” (2008), and the recent “State of Play” (2009). His characterizations have the air of naturalness and believability that endears one to his roles. In his latest, he’s the star and delivers a character with which we empathize his plight!

In “Extract” Joel (Jason Bateman) is the owner of a factory, which is the culmination of a lifelong dream. He’s one step away from selling his flavor extract factory to retire to the good life when a freak accident at the factory sets in motion a series of disasters that put’s his business and personal life in jeopardy. His friend, confidant, and bartender (a hilariously poignant performance by Ben Affleck, “State of Play” (2009) at the local pub, offers Joel outrageous advice along the way as he tries to contend with a milieu of personal and professional obstacles such as, has his wife become complacent in their marriage, do the employees want to take advantage of him because of the accident in the plant, and will the potential sale of the factory fall through. “Extract” has the right mixture of comedy with drama, as it heads to the answers of the ultimate questions!
